Bees are Mathematicians

Rooms 9 and 10 studied closely bees today.

Then looked at the tessellating patterns of the honeycomb.

First, we made a hexagon by ourselves.

then we joined with a friend

Lastly, we joined with a group to make giant tessellations just like honeycomb.

Afterward, we took action by tending to the Senses Garden. We need to make sure there are enough flowers for our bees. And the bees reward us by pollinating our plants. We knew the bees had been busy because the broad beans were ready to harvest. We worked together to pick all the pods and try one bean each. We'll freeze the rest for our Year ones to eat because they planted them.

AMAZING!
