Thank you bees - Our Year Rua Display

Litter free lunches & composting with year 3

Mrs Morrisson's and Mrs Kaur's class have been looking at our lunchboxes... We have been looking at what is sustainable and what is not. Which lunchbox items will breakdown and which will be junking up the earth for a long time ...

The excitement is building

Mrs Berry's class have some new visitors, they are waiting patiently to see what happens next.

Room Whitu go Weeding

Hector "I squished the petal and my hands are purple"

Emily "We're picking plants so we can grow new ones that are nicer"

Josiah "I found a caterpillar. I know that caterpillars turn into butterflies"

Max "we'll put the weeds in the compost bin"

Thank you for caring for our Senses Garden!

Learning about our Enviroschool Guiding Principles

We're a GreenGold Enviroschool! Piwakawaka Toru Tekau went on a scavenger hunt to learn more about the five guiding principles:

Empowered Students

Sustainable Communities

Maori Perspectives

Respect for Diversity and Culture

Learning for Sustainability

We brainstormed things we do at school and how they fit into the Guiding Principles. For example all the food and the bins at our Carnival were examples of Sustainable Communities znd Respect for Diversity and Culture. Our class pepehas are one way we include Maori Perspectives.

We loved running around outside to learn about being an EnviroSchool.
