Room 4 Investigating their broad beans and carrots

 We looked at our bean plants, they are taller than us now. We searched for the beans, but we could only see the flowers.

 We are waiting for the bees to visit and spread the pollen around.

Next, we harvested some carrots from our Mara Kai.

We each got to pull our own carrots! 

We investigated closely the roots, stem, and all the lines on our carrots.

Then came the best part.... we ate them!!!!

Room 1 How are our bean plants going?

 Room 1 have been learning about how to grow kai.  Back in February, we planted our tiny bean seeds...

Now look at the size of our plants! We can't see any beans yet..... we are waiting for the bees to visit the flowers, and spread the pollen around.

In the meantime, we harvested some carrots!

And had a taste...

Room 10 Buzzing About Bees

 Today Room 10 learnt about how bees make wax for their honey comb.  Did you know it's only the very young female worker bees that can make bees wax?

We also got to try some kohlrabi and cauliflower fresh from the Mara Kai.

Lastly we drew scientific sketches of bees.

Room 2 Carrot Delight

 Room 2 harvested some carrots from our Mara kai! Such fun!

We washed them and had a taste... yum yum
