Our Lizard Lounges Continue 🦎

 Year Five reflected on last week's learning and pushed forward with or Lizard Lounge and Skink Suburb planning.

Year Rua Become Bee Mathematicians

 


Today Year Rua learnt about how bees are clever mathematicians. They make honeycomb out of perfect tessellating hexagons.

We made and drew tessallating hexagons.

Lastly we weeded the flower gardens we are growing for our honeybees.

Year 5 Begin our Lizard Inquiry

 


Year Five are learning about lizards. We were lucky enough to have Frazer from Sustainable Schools share the knowledge he gained when he worked at Auckland Zoo. Did you know NZ is home to over 80 species of lizards?

We're wondering how we can encourage more geckos & skinks to make Wakaaranga their home.
We did some more research and reviewed with kahoot. Lastly we began to map out an area for a lizard lounge.
